Li Wen Quach (Amy)

I was born in Taiwan. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Canada Sheridan College. I have become a graphic designer since then. I have been interested in Chinese brush painting since high school. I am continuing in my spare time to study Chinese watercolor painting as well as exploring different style and media.  I have been continuously cultivating in this field for many years.

In the past years, I’ve participated in many exhibitions through the Harmonious Art Group and Sumi-e Art Society of America in local and nationwide in the USA. In 2004, 2014 and 2016, I held personal art exhibitions at Kentland’s Mansion, Gaithersburg; Brookside Gardens, Silver Spring; and Delaplaine Art Center, Frederick, MD.  I also participated in the International Sumi-e Chinese Painting Show in different cities in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto Fine Art Museum) and Taiwan.

Currently, I am a member of the Harmonious Art Group and Sumi-e Art Society of America. In the past, I won many awards from Sumi-e art shows for painting and calligraphy. I also won numerous awards for graphic design, such as logo design, annual reports and many publications.

As for my career, I am a freelance graphic designer, framer and Chinese brush painting teacher.

Art is lifetime learning and I have found that I love them and realize that “A painting is worth a thousand of words”.
